Our Community

The people who make up Lyle Industries are active and supportive members of the community where they live and work. Our current community involvement efforts include:

United Way of Gladwin County
Employees of Lyle Industries have contributed to the Gladwin County United Way campaign since 1992. Holding raffles during the year raises extra contributions. Lyle employees have contributed over $60,000 in support of United Way efforts.

Relay for Life/American Cancer Society
Each year the Gladwin County community holds a Relay for Life. Our Lyle Team (the Lyle Lifesavers) raises money through donations, pop can returns, raffles, and participation in the relay walk held every August. Relay for Life raises funds for the American Cancer Society.

Adopt-a-Highway is a program to keep Michigan beautiful by picking up litter on our highways. Lyle Industries has adopted a 2-mile stretch of M-18 since 1990. Lyle employees volunteer three times each year to keep our roads presentable for the traveling public.

Crime Stoppers
Lyle Industries sponsors the Gladwin County Crime Stoppers annual publication.

Beaverton Youth Recreation Program
Annually, we provide financial sponsorship of local Little League and Youth Hockey teams.

Gladwin and Clare County 4-H programs
Lyle Industries buys livestock at the two local county fairs. We support the bidding on livestock entered by children of our employees. The stock is then raffled off to our employees; the money raised by the raffles is donated to The United Way and the Relay for Life.

Beaverton School System
An annual grant to the Beaverton School System allows students to experience enlightenment through arts education taught by The Creative Spirit Center of Midland.

Mid Michigan Community College Scholarship Program
Each year we purchase a book of 30 tickets in support of Mid Michigan Community College’s annual BBQ for the scholarship program. We also purchase employee training through the M-Tec facilities.

Northwood University Scholarship Program
Lyle Industries financially supports the scholarship fund for Northwood University.

Junior Achievement
Each year, a Lyle Industries’ management volunteer teaches a Junior Achievement course to Beaverton 4th graders.

Michigan Community Blood Center
Twice each year we sponsor a blood drive at Lyle Industries for the Michigan Community Blood Center.
